Online booking, operated by The Service Marketing Guys

You booked with a local shop. We run the page you booked on. Here's what that means for you.

What this is

The Service Marketing Guys builds and runs the website and online booking for independent repair shops and home-service companies. When you book on one of those sites, the booking page is ours. The appointment is the shop's.

The shop sets its own services, hours, and prices. We keep the page working and get your request to the right place.

What happens after you book

  1. Your request goes straight to the shop. If the shop runs its work from a shop management system we're connected to, the request lands there too, so nobody retypes it.
  2. The shop confirms your time by text or email.
  3. Need to change it? If your confirmation has a link, use it to reschedule or cancel. No account or password needed. If it doesn't, call the shop at the number on its site.

Your information

  • We use what you enter (your name, phone, email, the work you need, and the time you prefer) to schedule and confirm your appointment with that shop. Nothing else.
  • We share it with the shop you booked with and, where one is connected, the shop management system it uses.
  • We don't sell it.
  • Texts are a separate choice. The text box starts unchecked, and you can book without it. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.

The details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

For shop owners

  • To turn online booking on, or change how it works, call or email us. We set it up to match how you take work.
  • Bookings that come from the Book button on your Google listing are labelled Reserve with Google in your Workspace, so you can see exactly what Google sent you.
  • You can stop online booking at any time. Ask us and we'll switch it off within five business days.

Questions

Booking, in short

Who am I booking with?

The shop. We run the booking page. The shop does the work, sets the price, and confirms your time.

Is my time set as soon as I hit the button?

Not always. Most shops look at the day and then confirm by text or email. Once you have that confirmation, you're on the schedule.

How do I reschedule or cancel?

Use the link in your confirmation if it has one. You don't need an account. Otherwise, call the shop at the number on its site.

Do I have to agree to texts to book?

No. The text box is optional and starts unchecked. If you do check it, reply STOP to any message to opt out.

I own a shop. How do I stop online booking?

Call or email us and ask. We'll switch it off within five business days.
