iPhone beta through TestFlight. Android is coming soon to Google Play.
What it is
Repair Explainer is a free phone app for auto repair shops and their technicians, from The Service Marketing Guys. It turns a quick clip of the problem into a finished video. Your tech can send it to the customer or upload it into your shop management software. Other trades may follow later.
How it works
- Your tech records a short video of the problem on the vehicle.
- They pick the explainer for the repair. They can search for it or browse by system.
- The app adds a short animated explainer to the end of the clip.
- Then it adds a closing card in your shop's colors, with your logo, your shop name, the tech's name, and your phone number.
- The finished video saves to the phone's camera roll. It's ready to upload into your shop management software or send to the customer.
One setup for the whole shop
Your shop's name, logo, and colors make up the setup. Send it to your other techs with a setup link. Every video from your shop then closes on your logo and colors, with the name of the tech who filmed it.
Free, with no account
The app is free. There's no account to create and no sign-up. It runs no analytics.
How to get it
Repair Explainer is in beta on iPhone. The beta runs through TestFlight, so your tech needs Apple's free TestFlight app on their iPhone first. Then they open the beta link on that phone and install Repair Explainer.
Android is coming soon to Google Play.
